At 6-3, 228 pounds Dwaney Mills is quite a physical specimen at defensive end for Rock Hill Northwestern (SC). Mills currently doesn’t have any offers but he is receiving interest from a number of big time college programs. Despite all of the interest, Mills has his favorites with two schools standing out the most.

“I don’t have any offers yet, but I still need to take the SAT’s,” Mills said. “Tennessee, South Carolina, NC State, and Clemson are showing the most interest. Tennessee, South Carolina, and Clemson came by my school recently and I talked with them. Tennessee is recruiting me the hardest. Tennessee, Florida State, LSU, Clemson, and South Carolina are my favorites, but I really like LSU and Clemson. I like LSU’s defense and how aggressive they are. I like Clemson and its surroundings. I love the coaches and how they treat you.”

For those that are close to Mills, Clemson being one of his favorites should come as no surprise.

“Clemson was my favorite team growing up because my uncle went there and had friends that went there,” he said. “I’ve been over there a lot and I am very familiar with the school.”

On the field Mills models his game after UNC alum and current NFL defensive end Julius Peppers. Last season Mills finished with 81 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 4.5 tackles for a loss, and 3 forced fumbles. He claims to have a 4.68 40 time and his strengths are his power and quickness. This season he wants to work on making quicker reads on defense when he’s going against his opponent.

So far Mills hasn’t taking any visits but plans on taking a few this summer. He isn’t in any hurry to make a decision and wants to take his time to see what each school has to offer.

“I’m looking for a school that can offer early playing time and that has good academics,” said Mills. “I want to be able to get a good job after college and I want to play for a good football program. I’m taking a lot of visits this summer. I’m supposed to go to Clemson this month and then South Carolina and NC State soon as well. I’ll probably make my decision around Signing Day.”
