NCAA Tournament Projections - Sweet 16 Edition
AthleteVault
Updated March 27, 2008...
.

Here are our projections for the Thursday and Friday games
Sweet 16:
EAST
1) North Carolina vs. 4) Washington State
The Tarheels have been cruising in this tournament, they should win this game against the Cougars
3) Louisville vs. 2) Tennessee
After an OT Thriller Tennessee has been battle tested. Expect another close win in this one
MIDWEST
1) Kansas vs. 12) Villanova
Kansas hopes to avoid its yearly letdown in the tournament and should advance to the elite eight
3) Wisconsin vs. 10) Davidson
Conventional wisdom tells me that Davidson can’t hang with Wisconsin’s big men. Of course, Roy Hibbert isn’t exactly little and Davidson beat them. Going with Wisconsin in this one though…
SOUTH
1) Memphis vs. 5) Michigan State
Memphis survived a scare and this one could go either way. I like Memphis in this one but could see the Spartans pulling off the upset
3) Stanford vs. 2) Texas
This might be the best game over the next two days. Stanford is big with the Lopez twins but Texas has great guard play. I think Texas can control the tempo and win this one.
WEST
1) UCLA vs. 12) Western Kentucky
UCLA has to love playing a 12 seed in the sweet 16. I think Western Kentucky ends their run here and UCLA wins comfortably.
3) Xavier vs. 7) West Virginia
Coach Huggins has the Mountaineers playing great. They look really good right now and Xavier looked solid as well. I’m going with the Mountaineers in this close one.
FINAL FOUR: North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, UCLA
NATIONAL CHAMPION: Kansas
